An Emerging Technology Forum is set for Monday, June 1, 2009 in Columbus. The ETF will focus on new opportunites and developments in foam technology. Speakers include Green Insulation Technologies, Battelle and Webcore, just to name a few.

In a recent article about the upcoming National Plastics Expo (NPE) conference, Joseph Pryweller, a Plastics News staffer quoted Henry David Thoreau, who said: "Men have become the tools of their tools." Pryweller followed with his own comment: "But visitors to NPE already know that, since their businesses frequently are only as healthy as their tools."

The Applied Polymer Research Center (APRC) is a contract services facility operated by The University of Akron (UA) College of Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering. The Center has been serving the industrial community, especially rubber and plastics, for over 50 years.

With help from the Ohio Bioproducts Innovation Center, one of Ohio's bioproducts has received a national award. The TKS Natural Rubber project has been ongoing for 5 years with university and indurstry collarborators.
