The Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) at The Ohio State University is the premier center for agricultural research in Ohio with 274 scientists engaged in over 400 research projects at the Columbus and Wooster campuses.

The OSU College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) includes ten departments, OSU Extension, OARDC, the Agricultural Technical Institute (associate degree programs), and a number of related centers and divisions.

A Bioprocessing pilot plant is under construction at OSU Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster, Ohio.   The facility will include a feed mill and laboratories for the technical evaluation of materials.

Research includes improving the processing of agricultural and industrial byproducts through the development of new or improved bioprocessing technologies, and microbial, chemical and related processes associated with composting and waste management.

The OSU Composting Research Center includes a facility for pilot-scale research related to curing and decomposition of organic matter.   The Center also has extensive facilities for field plot research.   The Composting Research Center is part of The OSU Center for Urban Environment and Economic Development (CUEED) , which focuses on a strong ecological approach to landscape research.

In the OSU Department of Chemical Engineering , research programs include novel fermentation processes, bioreactor systems, and bioseparations for the processing, production and/or conversion of chemical and biological compounds.

Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle) is a global science and technology enterprise that develops and commercializes technology and manages or co-manages laboratories in the U.S. and abroad.   Battelle oversees a staff of 20,000 scientists, engineers and support specialists, and conducts $3.4 billion in annual research and development.   Battelle serves the U.S. Department of Energy in the operation of the Pacific Northwest National Lab, Oak Ridge National Lab, the National Renewable Energy Lab and other national laboratories.

The Ohio State University (OSU), Battelle Memorial Institute, national laboratories and OBIC's industry partners include the world's leaders in agricultural processing, manufacturing and research.
